Welcome to Become a non-smoker with Hypnotherapy… Have you wanted to kick the habit of smoking for years? Have you tried the patches, gum and vaping without any success? With this in mind here is my guide to become a non-smoker with hypnotherapy:

1) Recognise the reasons why you smoke

At this time of year, we will be flooded with all the statistics about how bad smoking is for our health. I don’t need to go over these because if you want to become a non-smoker you already know them. But you may have forgotten why you started smoking in the first place? It doesn’t have to be a rational explanation because if smoking is an ingrained habit then the reasons why you started will also be ingrained in your subconscious. Some of the reasons why people smoke includes:
– To nurture ourselves. Smoking can be used as a treat to pick ourselves up in the day or if we
feel lonely or bored.
– To relieve stress. Smoking may be a trigger for relaxation when you need it most.
– As a comfort, if you find social situations uncomfortable. Smoking can be used to create common
ground or as an icebreaker
– To control your weight. Smoking is sometimes used as an appetite suppressant

2) Identify new behaviours

Each of these reasons has a positive function, hypnotherapy can be used to dismiss the habit and provide alternative behaviours to meet the need. For example, if you smoke when you’re stressed you can identify new habits such as breathing techniques or meditation to meet the need of relaxation rather than smoking.

By identifying why, when and where you smoke a personalised hypnotherapy session can provide you with new behaviours that will be right for you setting you up with your own smoke-free plan.

3) Build confidence in achieving your goal

Giving up smoking can feel like a huge task. Hypnotherapy can further support you to become a non-smoker by building your confidence in achieving your goal and supporting you to see yourself as a non-smoker. You can become your own cheerleader motivating yourself to create the most healthy and positive life.
