Behind the Scenes look at a Hypnotherapy Practice
What do you think happens in a Hypnotherapy Practice? Voodoo, magic, mind control? Here is a behind the scenes look at a Hypnotherapy Practice. As a Clinical Hypnotherapist, my days are full of variety, I support people with stress, anxiety, to overcome fears or additions, to release trauma, ditch bad habits, get a better night sleep, the list is endless.
A typical day starts with the preparation of my room and my appointments. I ensure my room is clean and clear, I set up my diffuser with a calming blend of essential oils, overall I ensure the space that I work in feels comfortable, inviting and safe. Then I meditate. I do this to centre myself, to reconnect and to calm my thinking. It isn’t so much about how I feel during the meditation but more about how I feel during the day, so I can support my clients in the best possible way.
Over the day I will see four clients. Before each client, I run through their notes and read over their bespoke script. If it’s a client’s first time I will run through what Hypnotherapy is and what it isn’t, explaining what it feels like, what to expect and then we get stuck into the first session. If it is a subsequent session we run through a review of their time since we last saw each other and make any amends to my approach. If it their last session with me I ensure the recording software is working because they will receive an MP3 recording so they can continue to benefit from the sessions even though they no longer see me in person.
As with all businesses in between clients I respond to enquiries, post on social media, organise my diary, all the normal admin stuff. So, no voodoo, magic or mind control here Hypnotherapy is a holistic approach to sustainable change.
